Yesterday the Independent Film Foundation announced the nominations for current year Eagle Awards and Bogowie (Gods) by Lukasz Palkowski leads the pack with 12 nominations followed by Jack Strong by Wladyslaw Pasikowski with 11 and Miasto 44 (Warsaw ‘44) by Jan Komasa with 8.The nominated films were chosen in 19 categories out of 42 feature films released in Polish cinemas in 2014 and 85 documentaries.

Polish Film Awards – The Eagles are organized by the Independent Film Foundation since 1999 and are considered to be the Polish equivalent of American Oscars, French Cesar awards and British BAFTA awards. The films are chosen by over 600 members of the Polish Film Academy in a two-step vote. The 2015 Polish Eagles Ceremony will take place on 2 March 2015 in Warsaw and will be nationally broadcast by TVP 2.
