Yesterday the Motion Picture Sound Editors organization announced the nominations for the current year awards and there are three films with three nominations each leading: Roma, A Quiet Place, and First Man.Let's recall that nominees represent the work of the world's most talented sound artists and their contribution to the past year's most outstanding feature film, television, animation, and computer entertainment productions.
The MPSE Golden Reel Awards recognize outstanding achievement in sound editing in 24 categories encompassing feature films, television, animation, computer entertainment and student work; and covers the various areas of sound editing: Dialogue, ADR, Effects, Foley and Music.
Antoine Fuqua is the Filmmaker Award and Stephen Flick the Career Achievement Award recipients.
Actually this is the last industry guild/group to announce their nominees and happened once again, a few hours before the Oscar nominations that will happen in a few more hours; so, now the awards ceremony will announce each group winners and as we know PGA already started -early this year-. As groups announce winners the Oscar guessing game will start to go full steam with expected and perhaps not-expected winners.
