As mentioned there are many news from countries calling for producers to submit their films for consideration by local AMPAS approved Oscars selection committee and many have scheduled their procedure. At post end all press announcements will be listed with their respective schedule and will updated as soon as other countries announce their choices.
Worth sharing is that no related news have captured the attention of film industry press and social media as the one about France changing their selection committee to exclude heads of Unifrance and Cannes film festival. Somehow is no good news but Thiery Fremaux has been loud in the past when saying that he doesn't want to belong to the selection committee, to avoid possible missinterpretations when selection comes from Cannes Festival. Well. seems his wishes have been given by France's Ministry of Culture. By the way, the new committee has Jacques Audiard so indeed well-known film related master filmmakers are included.
We have to mention that submission rules has been modify to what they where before the pandemic. If you wish to read the news go official site here and to check the Special Rules for the International Feature Film Award go here.
