As been mentioned in other posts I'm totally biased toward one of my very-favorite film director and yes I'm rooting for his film to win EVERYTHING!!! (LOL). No, seriously, Emilia Pérez is getting many honors from the new award owners (no longer are the Hollywood Foreign Press Association - now is Dick Clark Productions), as got 10 nominations, including two for masterfilmaking Jacques Audiard. Following are The Brutalist with 7, Conclave with 6, and with 5 each Anora and The Substance.
The nominations were announced by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut and at the end of post is the video if you wish to check it. As organizers claim, a racially and ethnically diverse group of voters -made up of journalists representing countries from around the world- selects the nominees and winners.
With all the A-Stars that have a film and/or TV nomination the show could be blinded-by-the-stars presence event and the red carpet absolutely must-be-seen as guilty pleasure. Yes, those are the feelings that the Golden Globes awaken in me a few years back, before the scandal; now, I wonder if I would be able to enjoy show as much as I did in the past, especially when Ricky Gervais was the host with his hilarious black humor!
As previously announced, Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Ted Danson the Carol Burnett Award, which recognizes TV excellence.
The Awards show is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 8 pm ET, which for me is around 2am (!) next Monday so wonder if will watch show live. Sigh. Nicki Glaser will host the show.

To check nominations at official site go here where you will also find the TV nominations. Please be aware that as of this moment there are some mistakes like the omission of Best Actress Musical or Comedy, but I assume they will fix as soon as possible. Also be aware that the new top owners of these award are also owners of The Hollywood Reporter so their coverage article reads like a press release for the awards, which they do not have at the official site; if you wish to check it go here.
